What Customers say about London Massage Therapy
"This was probably one the best massages I've ever had. The therapist was so nice and positive. And you could really feel she knows what she’s doing. I mean massage can’t get any better than this. And that’s exactly how you want to feel in a hotel room after six hours flight. Thanks London Massage Therapy."

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

A Manual Lymphatic drainage was discovered by Dr. Emil Vodder while he was researching immune disorders in 1930s. At that time that was a very misty part of the human body but from that point it took only 6 years and the Manual Lymphatic drainage was introduced for the first time in Paris in 1936.
The whole point of this massage therapy is to stimulate lymph's flow in the human body by gentle pressure and long light rhytmic strokes in the direction of the lymph node located in the neck, armpits and groin.
But what is the actual lymph? Lymph is a clear yellow fluid that flows in the human body. It carries white blood cells and antibodies to support our apparatus and tissues. Its purpose is to support our immune system and to flush away toxins through our body and to prevent and protect us from the infections and diseases. If this system is blocked our body gets toxicated very quickly and as a result we are more inclined to all sorts of illnesses and infections. And that’s why the manual lymphatic drainage is very effective as it increases the lymphatic flow. It also unlocks the blockade and lymph stagnation and lets the lymph do its job. The proper Manual Lymphatic Drainage can boost the volume of the lymph’s flow for about 20 times.
Benefits - better immunity system to fight the infections and ailments - faster and better recovery from illnesses - reduction of toxins in our body - reduction of the rash, swelling and edema - better skin visage and scar tissue healing - it reduces water retention - supports body’s own healing mechanism - improves health in general
It is also very effective with the following conditions: - cellulite - skin problems - weight loss - lymphoedema - common illnesses as flu or cold (mainly for people who suffer with these on a regular basis) - dysfunctional respiratory systems - chronic exhaustion - reduces pain caused by rheumatism, fractures and sprains
There are some cases when the Manual Lymphatic Drainage should be avoided or consulted with your GP. Avoid it if you suffer from major hearing problems, acute inflammation, thrombosis, malignant tumours, also women during menstruation. Consult with your GP if you experience any of the following cancer, thyroid, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, kidney problems.
Before you undertake the Manual Lymphatic Drainage it is always good to talk to your therapist about your medical problems so he can focus on those areas during the treatment. You should be also aware that you might feel exhausted after the Manual Lymhpatic Drainage so it would be better if you plan to spend the rest of your day in a relaxing way. Make sure you won't be involved in any heavy physical activity. Also it is advisable, as with almost any other massage therapy, to drink a lot of water to support drain of the toxins. Anyway, you will probably feel very thirsty and will drink water as your favourite pint during the hot summer day.
